Emma Hirst

Director / Registered Hand Therapist

Community sits at the heart of my ethos, and it’s this sense of community that inspired me to open our Airport Oaks clinic. As a South Auckland girl, born and raised, I wanted to give my own community easier access to professional, specialised hand therapy locally.

As a busy mum with two children and business owner, I know how important it is to be able to do every day tasks, like picking up your child or grandchild, playing your favourite sport, or simply just being able to do your own hair - or the housework!

I love working with everyone - kids, athletes, weekend warriors and local professionals - to help them get back to doing whatever it is that makes their own lives feel fulfilled. I have extensive experience, having graduated from AUT in 2002 with a Bachelor of Health Science (Occupational Therapy), worked in Paediatrics, Vocational Rehabilitation and Burns and Surgical wards, before later moving into private practice in 2008 and completing my Post Graduate Diploma in Rehabilitation in 2015.

And while you can be confident you’ll get professional, expert treatment, my patients also feel at ease with my easy going nature - we’ll have a laugh, chat about the Warriors score or compare gardening tips!
