Emma Stuart
Associate Hand Therapist
We need our hands for almost every activity we do in life, and people often do not realise the importance of well-functioning hands until they have injured them. So, seeing my patients recover, become pain-free and get back to doing the activities that are most meaningful to them is what motivates me to come to work every day. I have a particular interest in working with acute and traumatic injuries, including wounds, scars, and oedema, and working with children is also a strength of mine.
I first fell in love with hand therapy whilst working in Qatar, in a Paediatric Plastics and Craniofacial service. I then completed my level one Hand Therapy Certification in London UK. I hold a Bachelors in Health Science in Occupational Therapy, and prior to becoming a hand therapist I worked in Paediatric Neurology Rehabilitation.
Living an active life is important to me - sports, surfing, fishing, or just spending time with friends. I have had lots of opportunities to travel to different places, learn new languages, and meet new people - and connecting with different people in my community is something I love about my role!
