Director / Registered Hand Therapist

While all injuries are different, there’s something all my patients have in common - a desire to get back to doing what’s most important to them, functionally and pain-free. With my curious approach, I love a challenge and will go above and beyond to ensure you make gains and achieve your goals through expert treatment delivered with kindness, care and reassurance.

That’s because I know what it’s like to be the one in the treatment chair. As a sporty teenager I faced the uncertainty, fear, concern and even trauma that can often come from injuries. It’s this experience that sparked my own interest in this profession.

I completed my Bachelor of Health Science (Physiotherapy) at AUT in 2003 and joined the Allied Health team at Middlemore Hospital, where I found my niche in Hand Therapy. Four years at London’s Chelsea and Westminster Hospital saw me gain extensive experience in the management of traumatic and acquired conditions of the hand and upper limb. I’ve worked in private practice since returning to New Zealand in 2011, with a special interest in acute hand and wrist trauma, fracture management and sports injuries.

Just like you I have a life outside of the clinic. With two young children, living a life with flexibility on my terms, and working closer to home in my community is what I love about being a business owner. And while this approach is great for my family, it’s also beneficial for our clients too who have access to flexible yet specialised clinical care from practitioners who are passionate about offering a more personalised approach to hand therapy.

Community sits at the heart of my ethos, and it’s this sense of community that inspired me to open our Airport Oaks clinic. As a South Auckland girl, born and raised, I wanted to give my own community easier access to professional, specialised hand therapy locally.

As a busy mum with two young children and business owner, I know how important it is to be able to do every day tasks, like picking up your child or grandchild, playing your favourite sport, or simply just being able to do your own hair - or the housework!

I love working with everyone - kids, athletes and weekend warriors, and local professionals - to help them get back to doing whatever it is that makes their own lives feel fulfilled. I have extensive experience, having graduated from AUT in 2002 with a Bachelor of Health Science (Occupational Therapy), worked in Paediatrics and Vocational Rehabilitation and Burns and Surgical wards, before later moving into private practice in 2008 and completing my Post Graduate Diploma in Rehabilitation in 2015.

And while you can be confident you’ll get professional, expert treatment, my patients also feel at ease with my easy going nature - we’ll have a laugh, chat about the Warriors score or compare gardening tips!

Director / Registered Hand Therapist

I know that every patient who comes through our clinic door has their own story. That’s what I love about my job - meeting people from all walks of life and understanding what matters most to them so I can help them get back to doing what it is they love.

This comes down to really listening, and taking into account every aspect of their lifestyle in their healing process. It goes without saying that as we go through this journey, I really get to know my patients. I know it’s important to make it comfortable, enjoyable and fun. You can count on me to break the ice with an inappropriate joke if necessary.

I graduated as a physiotherapist from AUT in 2010, going on to work at Sydney’s Royal North Shore Hospital. Early in my career I developed a love for treating trauma, burns, orthopaedics and neurological rehabilitation. Returning to NZ in 2013, I began my career in Hand Therapy, going on to complete my Postgraduate Certificate.

Being active, running around after my three kids, good coffee, and enjoying the North Shore lifestyle are all things that I love. I’m proud to be in partnership with colleagues who are passionate about the work we do, and love that I can help others reach their full potential post-injury in a fun, flexible and more personal way.
