Nikki Healy

Director / Registered Hand Therapist

While all injuries are different, there’s something all my patients have in common - a desire to get back to doing what’s most important to them, functionally and pain-free. With my curious approach, I love a challenge and will go above and beyond to ensure you make gains and achieve your goals through expert treatment delivered with kindness, care and reassurance.

That’s because I know what it’s like to be the one in the treatment chair. As a sporty teenager I faced the uncertainty, fear and concern that can often come from injuries. It’s this experience that sparked my own interest in this profession.

I completed my Bachelor of Health Science (Physiotherapy) at AUT in 2003 and joined the Allied Health team at Middlemore Hospital, where I found my niche in Hand Therapy. Four years at London’s Chelsea and Westminster Hospital saw me gain extensive experience in the management of traumatic and acquired conditions of the hand and upper limb. I’ve worked in private practice since returning to New Zealand in 2011, with a special interest in acute hand and wrist trauma, fracture management and sports injuries.

Just like you I have a life outside of the clinic. With three young children, living a life with flexibility on my terms, and working closer to home in my community is what I love about being a business owner. And while this approach is great for my family, it’s also beneficial for our clients too who have access to flexible yet specialised clinical care from practitioners who are passionate about offering a more personalised approach to hand therapy.
