Our story

It all started when…

THTG came to life in 2019, when we decided to bring Hand Therapy to our local communities and reduce our commute in the dreaded Auckland traffic. Meet Nikki and Emma.

In establishing THTG, our vision was to provide high quality, accessible Hand Therapy services to our local communities. We treat our clients with compassion, respect and dignity and pride ourselves on being family friendly – a value that sits at the heart of our business. We embrace flexible working conditions to meet the needs of both our patients and our team.

Glenfield opened at 418 Glenfield Road on the ground floor of the Peach building. We soon outgrew this space and took the plunge taking on a lease of our own upstairs in the same building.  We also run a seasonal walk-in clinic within the Sports Injury Clinic at Netball North Harbour.

Airport Oaks was initally housed within Local Doctors on Kirkbride Road. The first Covid lockdown of 2020 put a stop to that, and we moved into our current clinic at 177 Montgomerie Road. Our South side satellite (The Doctors Middlemore) also opened in 2020.

Central Auckland was calling our name, so THTG Mt Eden opened in 2022 where we work alongside our colleagues at Active Plus Mt Eden. The same week we decided to branch out even further to Whakatane.

2023 saw our Ponsonby Clinic open alongside Baseline Physiotherapy and our Whakatane Clinic move to a larger site in Phoenix House.

From humble beginnings with just a handful of patients each week, we have grown to a team of three Administrators and eight Hand Therapists.
